Okay, you want to make money online?

The thing is, where do you start? Do you become an affiliate or reseller? 

The the question is as an affiliate you are limited to the affiliate program.  Plus, if you're driving traffic towards an affiliate program that doesn't convert your wasting valuable resources.

There are hosting companies that promise you massive incomes, some have even made videos with all the hype of how many thousands you can earn every month by signing up people to their service.

Now, you may be lucky and you may not experience the same as I did and if you were to go with this particular program I hope you don't meet the same fate as we did. (note: this is not sour grapes this is a purely objective personal experience - Note: I didn't tell you who they were!)

As a reseller you are the master of the game.  Once you have mastered the art of getting traffic to your site.  It's up to you to convert your visitors to buyers.

as a reseller you have the capability of sending your visitors directly to your index page which is in effect the hub of your business or you can do a pre-sell on a website or sales page where you can warm your customer to your services.

The difference between monthly affiliate driven hosting and your reseller website is price and quality, compare the prices.  When you offer a domain name for USD9.95 per year (plus ICANN - currently twenty cents per domain)  and web hosting from USD3.99 per month. for just one domain .  The cost to your customer, would be USD58.03 per year.  That's a whopping saving of USD61.37 per year just for one domain. 

Most people become addicted to hosting websites (especially if they are thinking of making money from the internet) and will more than likely buy more than one domain.  So, let's do the sums again: let's say your customer over the period of a few months by ten domain at USD9.95 each per year that USD99.50 per year (plus ICANN - say two dollars) however, now the hosting would need to be shared hosting and that would cost a minimum of USD6.99 per month, which total USD83.88 per year (remember that if you started at a USD3.99 a month hosting plan and decided three months down the track to upgrade to shared hosting you would only be charged the difference between what you had already paid and what would you to the end of your year depending on when you started and when you decided to upgrade).  Okay, shall we now look at the savings you would've made as the customer by going to a reseller rather than the affiliate hosting program:

Total cost of ten domains USD99.50 per year, plus ICANN USD2.00 per year, plus shared hosting USD83.88 per year.  Grand total USD185.38 for ten domains plus hosting for one year!

Now the affiliate hosting program: ten domains at USD9.95 per month total cost USD1194.00 per year.

If you thought the other scenario with saving you money.  Check out the savings now USD1008.62 in the customers pocket.

Unless you enjoy fleecing people.  (I think most people would prefer to show the savings that customers can make rather than taking them to the cleaners!) I know that I would never feel comfortable doing business in a way where people are being ripped off!
